The first time we met Ionica- at Chisinau airport. To think that was a week ago, wow. I miss them, very much.

In Munich, about to depart for Chicago

Donna's staying busy.

Munich Layover

The team is in Munich awaiting the flight back to ORD in a few hours. Still talking about the worship service and baptism celebration yesterday. Much to process from teaching at the college and at the conference and to follow up from our time with the brothers and sisters at Metanoia Chisinau. A week given imperfectly yet all-in for our Lord.

I have to journal through this on the next plane ride.

Thursday/Friday

Thursday you saw pictures of us helping the Missions Without Borders pack boxes of food. This morning we delivered them. We were all humbled by the dedication most of the people we delivered to have to their faith. We thought we were going to serve them and were humbled by them blessing us. We had an 86 year old woman pray for us like I had never been prayed for. She prayed with such passion and hugged us like I hadn't been hugged in a long time.

In the afternoon each day we met with couples with the intention to help them and again we learned a lot from them.

Wednesday

Wednesday morning we spent time with the Chisinau small group leaders and the Harts led a discussion about biblical counseling. Great time discussing this with them as they are in a period of great growth and opportunity.

Wednesday afternoon we met with a young married couple and discussed the order of importance for focusing. This is the order of importance to focus on (if you don't have the first under control you can't do the next)
  1. Relationship with God (Exodus 20:3)
  2. With husband and wife
  3. With children
  4. Extended family
  5. Supporting you family (1 Timothy 3)
  6. Ministry in the church

Thursday Night Update

In the Lord's wisdom, our team started the day with a devotional in Acts 4. We talked about the ministry pattern Pastor James has taught us all with a little add-on: Proclamation, opposition, perseverance, fruit, glory, repeat. We closed with a prayer for boldness in our teaching and our service just like Peter and John and the believers then. And, wow, did God answer that prayer in teaching at the college, in service with Missions without Borders, in time with couples here and finally with the small group leaders at Harvest Metanoia Chisinau.

Much to process and journal through. My brothers here told me they would hold me accountable to doing so in the best spirit of biblical love. :-)

Our God is at work. And He doesn't do small things.

Praise His great name!

Now off to sleep fast and get back at it in the morning. Pray for us please, that we would finish strong for Him.

Tuesday Recap

Morning spent getting feel for area, history, culture, and other churches:
(Pic of ex of predominate Orthodox churches in area.  Very ornate. Do you see the doors leading into the Holy of Holies?)
(Other pix are on Bill's camera, Honeyy!)
Afternoon- getting introduced to the 20 people here and their roles; hearing their testimonies (priceless); Sharing who we are, our roles, and some testimonies as well.
Evening- Trying to get a feel for their challenges, and hearing how God is blessing them, but also seeing how they pour theirselves out for the Lord's work.
They say we are blessing them but its so much more the other way around.  What amazing people God has brought together to be a witness for Christ!
Love and blessings to you all! So appreciate your support!

Tuesday Afternoon

After a city tour, the team came together for lunch and introductions. There is something about the family of the Lord -- so welcoming, so loving. As brothers and sisters shared their testimonies, I was again struck by how our Lord works. He loves people. He rescues. He redeems. He repurposes. Those who were once enemies of the Most High are now His bond-servants, His fellow workers. Amazed anew! More to come tonight as we meet with the small group leaders.
